The Wheel of Life

The Wheel of Life is really amazing in its simplicity. This wheel contains eight sections that, together, represent one way of describing a whole life. This exercise measures your level of satisfaction in these areas on the day you work through this exercise.
Taking the center of the wheel as 0 and the outer edge as an ideal 10, rank your level of satisfaction with each life area by drawing a straight or curved line to create a new outer edge (see example below).
This newly drawn perimeter represents your Wheel of Life. How bumpy would the ride be if this were a real wheel? Let’s start to look at areas where you want to improve your level of satisfaction and think about what you might do to accomplish that.

This begs the question, “What does a level 10 look like?” The answer is completely subjective, and truly, there’s no wrong answer. Your best way to real satisfaction is to answer that with as little of your ego as possible.
To some extent, the ego is necessary and unavoidable, but answering that question by comparing yourself to others probably won’t get you anything your heart desires. A great way to define a 10 would be something like, “I truly love it, and would be happy if it should increase as well.”
